Interlude
An interlude is a short period of time between two longer events or activities. It serves as a break or pause in the main action, providing a moment of rest or transition. In music, an interlude is a musical passage that comes between sections of a song or a larger musical work. It can be instrumental or include vocals and is often used to create a contrast or build tension before returning to the main theme. In literature, an interlude can refer to a short dramatic, musical, or other entertainment piece inserted between the acts of a play. It can also be a brief, light-hearted scene within a more serious work, offering a moment of relief or comic relief for the audience.
In everyday language, an interlude can simply mean a brief interruption or break in an ongoing activity. For example, during a long meeting, a short coffee break can serve as an interlude to give participants a chance to refresh before continuing.
