Delay
Delay means to put off or defer something, causing it to happen later than originally planned or expected. When something is delayed, it means there is a pause or a hold in the progress, resulting in a later completion or occurrence. Delays can happen in various situations, both in our personal lives and in the world around us. For example, if you’re waiting for a bus and it doesn’t arrive on time, you can say that the bus is delayed. Or if you’re expecting a package to be delivered, but it takes longer than expected, you can say there’s a delay in the delivery.
In a broader sense, delays can occur in projects, events, or even in the completion of tasks. For instance, if you’re working on a report and encounter unexpected challenges, it might cause a delay in finishing the project. Delays can be caused by various factors, such as unforeseen circumstances, logistical issues, or simply a need for more time to complete a task.
