Plethora
Plethora is a noun that refers to an excessive amount or an abundance of something. When we say there is a plethora of something, it means there is a vast or overwhelming quantity of it. It’s often used to describe a situation where there is more of something than is needed or expected.
For example, imagine if you went to a buffet, and there were so many different dishes available that you couldn’t possibly try them all. In that case, you could say there was a plethora of food choices. Or if you were studying for a test and found a plethora of resources online, it means there were so many materials available that it was hard to choose which ones to use. The word plethora originated from the Greek word “plethōra,” which means “fullness.” It has been used in the English language for centuries and is commonly used in both formal and informal contexts.
