Presage

Presage

Definition

Presage is a verb that means to be a sign or indication of something that is about to happen. It’s like when you get a feeling that something is going to occur before it actually does. When something presages an event, it’s like a little hint or clue that gives you a heads up. It’s kind of like when you see dark clouds gathering in the sky, you know that rain is on its way. The clouds presage the upcoming rain. Similarly, certain actions or situations can presage future outcomes. In literature and movies, authors often use elements that presage events to build suspense and keep you on the edge of your seat. They drop little hints or use symbols to give you an idea of what might happen later in the story.
