Stipulate
Definition
Stipulate is a verb that means to specify or demand something as a condition of an agreement or arrangement. It’s like setting a rule or requirement for something to happen. For example, let’s say you’re selling your car to someone. You might stipulate that they need to pay the full amount upfront before handing over the car. In this case, you’re specifying that the condition for the sale to take place is the full payment in advance. Or let’s say you’re renting an apartment. The landlord might stipulate that no pets are allowed in the building. This means that as a condition of renting the apartment, you agree not to have any pets.
